President & CEO
Don Basnett is one of the original three founders of Pyramid Corporation. Since its inception in 1993, Don has been directly involved in growing the company to annual sales in excess of $550 million.
Since achieving his Journeyman and Master Electrician certification, Don has had hands on experience supervising and managing maintenance branch offices in Swan Hills and Redwater, Alberta. This experience led to him relocating to a head office setting and joining the management team in the electrical estimating department. Throughout his career, Don has worked in a variety of industries including oil & gas, mining, wood products, agricultural processing and industrial manufacturing and fabrication for the oil & gas industry.
Don is a very well respected individual in the Electrical and Instrumentation Industries, and has offered to share his knowledge and experience to several boards/committees throughout North America. He is an active member with the following organizations:
- Board member – Progressive Contractors Association of Canada (PCAC).
- Board member – Objective-Based Industrial Electrical Code (OBIEC).
- Board member – Canadian Electrical Code-Oil/Gas (CEC).
- Board member – Northern Frontier Corp.
- Past Board member – Alberta Apprenticeship Board.
- Chairman – PTW Energy Services LTD.
Vice President of Construction & Manufacturing
Keith Basnett is one of the original three founders of Pyramid Corporation. Since its inception in 1993, he has been directly involved in growing the company to annual sales in excess of $550 million.
Since achieving his Journeyman Electrician certification, Keith has had hands on experience supervising the construction of numerous heavy industrial facilities, which led him to the project management of multiple concurrent electrical and instrumentation projects from a head office setting. As a co-owner, Keith’s duties include management of specific construction projects, both internal and external, supervision of numerous project managers in Canada and the United States and overseeing the manufacturing/fabrication activities of the entire corporation.
The manufacturing and fabrication divisions have grown, along with the rest of the company, from a 10,000 square foot, 5-man Flare Stack shop to a 100-person full service process fabricator for the oil & gas industry. This operation is now housed in a facility of over 80,000 square feet on 29 acres that includes control panel manufacturing.
During his 30 year career, Keith has worked in a variety of industries including oil & gas, mining, wood products, agricultural processing and industrial manufacturing and fabrication for the oil & gas industry. Keith is also currently a member of the Forest Industry Suppliers and Logging Association (FISLA) and the Progressive Contractors Association of Canada (PCAC).
Vice President of Operations
Garth Deacon is one of three principals of Pyramid Corporation, and has been directly involved in growing the company to annual sales in excess of $550 million.
Since achieving his Journeyman and Master Electrician certification, Garth has held many key roles in both Electrical/Instrumentation Industries. Garth’s experience includes successfully becoming a Construction Project Supervisor and overseeing the daily operations as Branch manager of numerous maintenance area offices, which include Norman Wells, NWT and Nisku, Alberta. As a result of this experience, Garth quickly obtained the role of District Branch Manager for central Alberta. In his current position as VP of Operations, Garth is responsible for all field services provided from Pyramid Corporation’s western Canada area offices, which total more than 32 locations. Garth has 32 years of experience servicing the oil & gas, forestry, mining and agriculture industries and has been with Pyramid Corporation since its inception in 1993. In addition to his role within Pyramid Corporation, Garth is also directly responsible as VP of Operations for two very successful subsidiary companies. Both DV Meter and PC Compression Inc. are well known and respected in the Instrumentation and Gas Compression industries. DV Meter is located in Drayton Valley, Alberta, and has a long history of providing excellent service and quality products for their client’s Instrumentation needs. PC Compression is housed in a state of the art facility, which is situated on 29 acres in Nisku, Alberta. PC Compression Inc. has quickly become a leader in the design and manufacturing of Gas Compression packages.
